Cllr. Green re-elected as mayor
25 May 2013

The Welsh Christian Party has just celebrated another first – the first faith based party to have a Mayor re-elected. Cllr. Green has just started his second full term of office as Mayor and his second term of office as town councillor having being elected mid term in the last session. In his short address as he took on the role as Mayor last year, he argued that the town needs to have a bigger vision for what it can accomplish. Cllr. Green maintains that previous Councillors didn’t realise how much they could achieve and if the Council was united behind a common vision to improve and develop the town’s assets for the benefit of all, so much can be achieved. ‘We need goals and objectives so we can measure our progress. It will make us more effective. With five year goals, each new Chairman will keep us on track and help us achieve those goals. We need to think bigger.’

Cllr. Green had suggested that the Town Council produce a questionnaire for the town to get feedback from what residents would like the Council to focus on. One of the key areas is the development of tourism and making the towns’ assets the best they can be. The questionnaire was taken up by the town council and residents finally got their views heard
