CHRISTIANS WORKING TOGETHER
TO BRING CHRISTIAN CONCERN, GOODWILL AND ACTION INTO THE COMMUNITY, EDUCATION, BUSINESS AND POLITICS.

why a christian party?

PictureJeff Green Leader of the Christian Party
The Christian Party is a political party comprising Christians who seek to serve their country and all their fellow citizens in a professional manner in the political arena. Without compromising our faith we seek to serve all – regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation – giving respect to those who do not share our faith, while in turn expecting them to respect us and others.

The Christian Party believes that there is a clear majority in the United Kingdom who treasure our Christian heritage, even if they are not active church members. However, a secular elite who are hostile to this heritage now dominate the main political parties. They want to destroy what is left of our country’s Christian culture and legacy.

This secular agenda has clearly created problems in our society which everyone can see, and it will only become worse unless we work together to recover the Christian values that made Britain great. However, other political parties seem to embrace this secular agenda.

Goodwill towards others is the cement that creates social cohesion, but political correctness is promoting intolerance.  It is generating fear and division in neighbourhoods and communities.

As a political party we promote goodwill and toleration between all groups in this country, with Christian grace instead of the heavy hand of legal penalties, and the megaphone diplomacy in our international relations.

Britain was once renowned for freedom of speech, but the secular agenda aims to close down debate using the sanctions of law.  Secularists tell us to accept people as they are, but they will not accept people who do not agree with them.

Unless we protect our hard won freedoms, we will see the culture of fear and intimidation continue to increase.

Making laws does not give the motivation to keep these laws. Jesus teaches us a better way - to change hearts. He gives us the opportunity to choose life instead of the death culture we see all around us - abortion, euthanasia and the teenage gang culture. If we are to weed out the corruption in our society, we need to change hearts. It used to be said that people need jobs, housing and education, but the country was brought to the edge of bankruptcy by highly educated people, in top jobs, living in expensive houses. There is something missing, and that is the Christian contribution to society. Max Weber demonstrated that capitalism developed in Protestant Europe, but since then the Christian content has been stripped out of capitalism with disastrous results, just as it has been stripped out of education in our schools, and the caring professions with similar disastrous results.

This is what the Christian Party will contribute to the debate to solve the lack of cohesion in our communities and improve the sanctions in our legislative process. The current process has legislated the soul out of our country.

We are for choice and freedom of expression instead of the fear, divisiveness, over-regulation and suppression served up by successive governments in recent decades.

Most people in Britain appreciate our Christian culture, and have little time for the secular minority who aim to wreck it. Their so-called post-Christian era is non-existent because Jesus has said that He will be with His church till the end of time.

"Christians working together to bring Christian concern, goodwill and action into the community, education, business and politics.”

The time has come for Christians of all denominations to stand up for their beliefs and to resist the tide of secularism destroying our country. The Christian Party exists to fulfil this vital role.

Many Christians feel that they can no longer vote conscientiously for the major political parties with the result that they feel marginalised and disenfranchised.  Yet it is a fundamental civil right in a democratic society to be able to vote for who and what you want.  With the Christian Party on the ballot paper you are able to vote for a Christian politician who will be able to speak up for issues and implement policies which are consistent with Christian values.

More than that - you will be able to help to develop the policies which this nation needs.  The only legitimate way to change the laws of the country is by politics - you need politicians.  Just as the major parties have adopted Green Party issues, so we need a Christian Party to encourage them to adopt Christian issues.  No longer does the silent Christian majority have to suffer in silence - yes, 59% of the population in the 2011 Census declared themselves to be Christian, would you believe it?

Under the leadership of Jeff Green, this non-denominational, faith-based Christian political party provides a united Christian witness across the nation to ensure that the message of the Bible, which has served Britain so well for so long, is heard where it matters, and applied to the needs of the country.

Dr Donald Boyd is the leader of the Christian Party in Scotland, known as the Scottish Christian Party, where John Cormack is the Chairman of the Scottish Executive Council.   Councillor Jeff Green is responsible for England and Wales.  In Wales the Christian Party is also known as the Welsh Christian Party.  Christian activists who can see the scriptural vision are invited to join them.

The voice of the church may be reduced to a mere whisper, but the Christian Party will speak out and not be silent. Whatever your denomination or affiliation, the time has come for those with the Christian faith and all that it represents to unite and stand together. The more who join the Christian Party, the stronger, more balanced and more effective our Christian voice will become. If you agree that this is so, it may be that God is calling you to join together with other like-minded Christians throughout the country who are equally concerned about the state of the church and nation.

If we have something wrong, then this is your opportunity to give Christian input to put it right.

The Christian Party hopes to use the talents of the Lord's people, in their different callings, to bring the grace of the Gospel to bear upon the religious, spiritual, moral and social problems of our society.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  1. We believe in one Creator, God, eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as stated in the historic creeds of the Christian church.
  2. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord over all creation.
  3. We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible, written Word of God to whose precepts, given for the good of nations and individuals, all man's law must submit.
  4. We believe all government to be under the authority of God and that the purpose of government is the maintenance of freedom and justice solely in accordance with biblical principles.
  5. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth, personally, visibly and bodily to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Christian Party is to proclaim the Lordship of Christ.  The party also exists to empower those who confess "Jesus Christ is Lord!" to serve Him in the political sphere.
